We love all weddings - but when it is a friend's wedding, plus a collaboration of all of your favorite vendors (who are also friends!) we can't help but fall even more in love! And what better way to celebrate your first anniversary, then having your wedding featured on Martha Stewart Weddings
The groom, Steve DePino, is an incredibly talented photographer. Steve has shot at virtually every wedding venue in Connecticut, so when it came to his own wedding, he and his fiancé Lauren Ann, wanted a venue that was totally unique. Steve was raised and still lives in charming Guilford, Connecticut, so it was important to him that all of the wedding festivities take place there. The couple planned their ceremony at Bishop's Orchard, which was established in Guilford in 1871 and is a town landmark. When Steve and Lauren Ann were scouting the location, they noticed that there was one clear spot in the apple orchard where a tree had been removed. They decided to use that spot as their ceremony location. They wanted to get married in April, however at that time, apple trees are not yet in bloom. Floral designer extraordinaire, Yumiko Fletcher of Hana Floral Design transformed the tree that sat right behind the ceremony site into a living tree! She and her team hand-wired thousands of cherry blossoms to the tree and created the most spectacular backdrop for the ceremony!
The reception took place at The Marketplace at Guilford Food Center. The Marketplace is situated in the center of town along the historic Guilford Green. This location is also a town landmark that was recently renovated to be a charming, retro market. Steve, Lauren Ann, and their son Luke are regulars, so having the reception there was a no brainer! The atmosphere is hip, laid back, and fun, just like the couple! They even coined their own whimsical hashtag for the wedding: #grocerystorewedding. The wedding images below by Justin & Mary Marantz are nothing short of epic. The couple is stunningly gorgeous, and you can see their love radiating through the images! We are so happy for you Steve and L.A (and Luke)! We were honored to have a small part in your big day!
