Bridal Market Trends | Fall 2019 Preview

Last week, the TWD Lovelies headed into NYC for Bridal Market, a biannual event where bridal designers showcase their new collections through runway shows and private viewings. At Market, we get to shop the new collections and decide which lines will work best here at TWD. We also get to see all the new trends and this year, there was a lot of new coming into play!

 | Pearl Accents |

We saw a ton of gowns with pearls, whether it was scattered throughout the gown or just on the bodice.

Pearls are the new hot trend in headpieces and accessories too!

 | Off the shoulder necklines |

The fear with an off the shoulder gown is that brides will not be comfortable on their wedding day, however, we saw a lot of functional off the shoulders that still give you a lot of wiggle room! The Hayley Paige gown below has detachable sleeves!

| Capes |

Capes are a great way to add drama and length to any gown and make a great alternative if you are not a ‘veil girl’!

 | Appliquéd & Embellished Lace |

We saw appliquéd floral lace (with and without embellishment) on almost every runway.  We adore this feminine trend!

| Halter Top Necklines |

Meghan Markle had a huge influence on this market.  Her reception dress led to halter necklines on every runway!

| Clean & Classic |

Clean and simple also graced every runway.  We know that the Duchess of Sussex had an influence on this trend as well!  Especially when it came to long sleeves!

| Jumpsuits |

We love a good jumpsuit!  We think these are incredible looks for a modern bride for her ceremony for any bride for her rehearsal dinner!

| Delicate Spaghetti Straps |

We think that the delicate spaghetti strap trend is so feminine and dainty!  We love that that this has emerged as a popular neckline, as it is flattering on all body types!

| Matching Veils |

One of the hot accessories of the season was the matching veil.  It was especially prevalent with the lace and floral appliquéd gowns.  This is one trend we are NOT mad about!  We believe the veil makes the bride!
